Research Assistant

Tracey is a first-year graduate student with a decade of experience dedicated to advancing education equity, child protection, and gender equality. Tracey holds a Bachelors degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Anna University, India. She embarked on her professional journey through the Teach For India fellowship, honing her skills in teaching, training, product development, strategy consulting, and large-scale program management across various regions, including India, New York, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Liberia, and Rwanda. Prior to joining Columbia University, Tracey served as the Head of Programmes at an Ed-tech organization, overseeing a portfolio of public-private partnership programs and leading a team of academic and program managers. Her leadership positively impacted over 600 schools in Sierra Leone.

Currently, Tracey serves as the President of the Public-Private Cooperation Club at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. She has also contributed her expertise as a graduate consultant with organizations such as New City Public Schools and UNICEF's Social Protection team.

Through her experience managing large-scale education programs, Tracey recognized the inefficiencies in program designs, motivating her to transition towards roles focusing on leveraging innovation, technology, and human-centered design thinking to develop solutions to complex issues in the development sector. This driving force has guided her studies at SIPA

At the Center for Sustainable Development, Tracey is working with Prof. Yanis Ben Amor on the “Artificial Intelligence & the Future of Work” initiative. After contributing to the planning and launching of the initiative, Tracey is the liaison with the Task Force on Artificial Intelligence & Education.
